Biography
Samantha Franck-Rezac (Sam) graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. That same year, she began her career at Salsbury Chemicals (now Cambrex) in Charles City, Iowa, as a Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician. In this role, she was responsible for analytical testing of fine chemicals, pharmaceutical intermediates, and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).
In 1997, Sam transitioned to the Chemical Development group, where she contributed to the development and scale-up of manufacturing processes for various fine chemicals and APIs under current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). Her responsibilities included preparing manufacturing records, troubleshooting production processes, and handling potent compounds in both laboratory and production environments. In 2001, she returned to the Quality Control group as an Assistant Scientist and Stability Program Coordinator.
Sam joined the University of Iowa Division of Pharmaceutical Service (now UI Pharmaceuticals) in 2003 as a Chemist in the Methods Development, Validation, and Preformulations Group and currently serves as Director of Analytical Laboratories at UI Pharmaceuticals. She brings proven leadership and extensive expertise in analytical chemistry and regulatory compliance, and is committed to advancing the capability, quality, and precision of UI Pharmaceuticals’ laboratory operations.
