Biography
Jingying Xu (Jin) joined UI Pharmaceuticals in 2022 and currently leads engineering and facilities support for the production lines and suites, analytical laboratories, and formulation development laboratories across both the IBIF and CPB facilities.
Jin brings over 25 years of experience in industrial manufacturing and pharmaceutical operations. She holds a bachelor's degree in Analytical Chemistry and a master's degree in Chemical Engineering from Nankai University in China. Her career began in 1997 at Novo Nordisk, where she contributed to the launch of the company’s first enzyme production line in Tianjin TADA, China—now part of Novozymes.
Following her time at Novozymes, Jin focused her career on contract research and development manufacturing organizations (CRO/CDMO), particularly those affiliated with academic institutions and designed to support scale-up for innovative biopharmaceutical companies. She spent seven years at the Fermentation Facility of the University of Georgia and fourteen years at the Center for Biocatalysis and Bioprocessing at the University of Iowa. During this time, she developed deep expertise in facility operations compliant with FDA GMP guidelines, as well as EU and ICH regulations.
