UI Pharmaceuticals Development Consortium has Expertise to Solve Difficult Formulation Development Challenges

The University of Iowa Pharmaceuticals Development Consortium has a strong history of working on challenging formulation development projects.  Faculty have a wide range of interests, from nano-particulate systems to basic solid state physical chemistry.

The University of Iowa Pharmaceuticals Development Consortium (UIPDC) was formed in 2008 between the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy pharmaceutics faculty and the University of Iowa Pharmaceuticals.  The newly formed unit’s focus is preformulation and formulation development, especially for compounds that present scientific challenges (solubility, stability, polymorphism, etc.).

The pharmaceutics faculty at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy average over 20 years of experience in applied pharmaceutical research and collectively have successfully conducted over 100 industrial pharmaceutical projects involving preformulation, material characterization, stability, and formulation and packaging development.
